Port Renfrew Fishing Report

What's happening for salmon fishing and halibut fishing around Port Renfrew and Swiftsure Bank -- south-west Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Latest Update: December 28, 2011

Port Renfrew offers good potential for winter fishing for feeder chinook salmon (springs / blackmouths), not too many people are chasing fish at this time of year -- with winter storms blowing and the rivers running hard. As well, halibut fishing is on hold until the 2012 opening -- hopefully March 1st. A few locals have been crabbing though -- and they reported it is really good, with lots of large hard-shell keepers.
